November in Review

Once again the month flew by and my little buddy is already 8 months old. He is 20 pounds and about 30 inches long. He inchworms everywhere and constantly wants to stand up (with our help). He always wants to try mom and dad’s food. He loved trying Thanksgiving dinner. It is so fun watching him learn and grow, he is constantly testing the waters and trying new things!

This Thanksgiving was extra special because it was Warner’s first one! It is so fun experiencing all of these big milestones with him.  He is the sweetest little guy and is just so happy! His sweet spirit is truly infectious! While it was a fun Thanksgiving the missing presence of my Nana didn’t go unnoticed. Holidays just aren’t the same when you are missing a loved one, but especially that first one. Thankfully there is always a part of her that is with me. The main one being my tiny stature haha (she was a whopping 4’10” when she passed), that is something I most definitely inherited from her. There is not a day that I look in the mirror and don’t think of her! While I am talking about thankfulness I have to add how thankful I am for Warner. I never really had any particular career aspirations beyond college, which I am grateful for experiencing and would do again if I had the chance. However one thing that never faltered for as long as I can remember was my desire to be a mother. On March 23, 2017 at 9:38 in the morning that desire became a reality when God entrusted Ethan and I with Warner Elias Smith. Being his momma is something I will never take for granted and will always strive to do my best at. I can’t wait to see the Godly little boy that he grows up to be.

Needless to say I didn’t get much reading done this month as you can see by the picture lol. Not sure if it was the holidays or what, but I just didn’t seem to have much free time to get reading done. Also, I have been at a little loss for what to read lately, nothing has really popped out at me. So, if you have any suggestions please leave them down in the comments. I would love to check them out. Anywho, this one was  a pretty fun little read! I definitely loved reading about these first hand accounts of the Bush sisters’ adventures growing up during their father and grand father’s presidency.

Okay that’s about all I have for this months recap. I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving as well! Until next time . 🙂

Warner’s Nursery

Hey guys! I have really loved the furniture that we picked out for Warner’s nursery and thought that I would share it with you in case there are any expecting mama’s out there! The crib and dresser both came from Pottery Barn Kids. The quality is amazing, I can’t say enough good things about either of them. I am not really into the typical “baby”  looking nursery and really just wanted Warner’s room to be a natural extension of the rest of our house. I figured since he is a baby and won’t care I would just go with what I like. 😉

img_2115Everything in his room is very light and bright with some neutral, earthy tones thrown in there. Above his dresser I did add some animal prints from hobby lobby to give it a younger look. Beside the dresser we have the Ubbi diaper pail in white. I really like this diaper pail a lot because it holds in the odor of dirty diaper like no other! The best part about it is that you don’t have to have any special bags or deodorizers like some other diaper pales, you can just used any regular trash bag!

Above Warner’s crib was a little bit of a diy project. I picked up this large wooden frame then bought some large wooden letters, and spray painted them navy. Also, the lamp is from Target, and the crib skirt is from Pottery Barn Kids.

I love the look of these floating shelves, the best part is they are in expensive and fairly easy to install! This is just a cute and easy way to store all of Warner’s books.

The print above the chair was done by Rebecca Langford, she is seriously amazing and can do absolutely ANYTHING. So if you every want chalk board art or prints she is your girl! I had it matted and framed in the same frame from hobby lobby that I used above the bed. The side table is from TJmaxx and the lamp is from Target. This chair has such a special meaning to me. This chair has been in my family for literally longer than I have been alive haha. My dad used to rock me in it as a baby, and now we have it in our nursery to rock Warner in. At least we did when he was tiny but now he is so busy he wouldn’t thing of letting me cuddle with him! 😦

The Coziest Sweater

These jeans and booties are old news at this point. The real star of the show is this sweater that I picked up recently at Loft! This sweater is seriously the softest, coziest sweater ever! The best part is it is on sale right now! I highly recommend you go snatch it up. For reference I am wearing a size medium for a looser fit. It is supposed to be an off the shoulder style but I opted for a more cowl neck look. Also I wanted to share this necklace with you guys! So when it comes to jewelry, for me, it has to be simplistic as well as low maintenance. I have to be able to just leave it on and not have to worry about taking it off to shower or wear the in pool or I will never wear it. I have been on the hunt for a plain gold chain that isn’t quite a choker but isn’t too long either. This one is absolutely perfect, sitting right above the collarbone! It has enough texture to make it interesting and not too plain. Plus, it is so sparkly the picture doesn’t do it justice!
